It very rarely runs above 65c, even at 4k. As far as the 5700 xt cards go I belive this is one of the best value for money. It is extremely quiet, runs cool, very high clocks out of the box and is able to reach over 2080 MHz clocks without any extra cooling solutions. Nothing absolutely unstable but it certainly is not perfect.Personally for me it works best by disabling EVERYTHING in Radeon Software(it does not play nice with afterburner, and it is just a bit crap) while undervolting the gpu to 1141 mv, 2084 OC and a custom fan curve.The hardware itself is an absolute beast and would give it 5 stars for that alone. Most I say, as there still occurs an occasional bsod, green screen or a crash upon alt tabbing. I received my card after February which means the driver 20.2.1 was released fixing most stability issues. Seriously the software is beyond broken, nearly returned the card because of that but I just love it so much as it performs like a an absolute BEAST.Now another reason is the infamous AMD drivers. ARGB control of the card is locked behind DragonCentre, which means you cannot run it at all in MysticLight standalone, you either have a choice to sync the light in your system and have dragon center constantly mess up your voltages/clocks/fan curve or not have it what so ever. The Radeon RX 580 4GB would also be good at 1080p Ultra, getting 50 FPS.I love this card. But when run on 1440p High it would get 53 FPS, and at Medium 79 FPS and then on Low it would return 101 FPS. The graphics card is going to run smoother on High 1440p rather than Ultra, where it would be getting 38 FPS. To summarise, we feel that with the Radeon RX 580 4GB you can enjoy MSI Afterburner at 1440p resolution pretty comfortably. Converting this into a cost per FPS we are looking at $5.78 on High settings and $3.94 at Medium. 4K High will return 32 FPS or 4K Medium gets 47 FPS. At High setting it gets 53FPS, but it is also capable of bumping up to 4K in High settings. We can see that in Ultra 1440p we will avg around 38 FPS. The Radeon RX 580 4GB is going to do great at 1440p.
Note that those results would be running at High and 1920x1080 screen res. Playing MSI Afterburner on the Radeon RX 580 4GB, which is a 6 year old graphics card will likely deliver a solid 70 FPS. Low Vs Ultra Radeon RX 580 4GB Performance Review
